Powertek has an ongoing corporate social responsibility programme that contributes to the community as well as care for its employees and the environment.

Powertek Group's main support for the community is its annual contribution of one per cent of its turnover to the Electricity Supply Industry Trust Fund. The Fund was established to amongst others, develop rural electrification and conduct research and development for the benefit of the electricity supply industry.

In addition, Powertek has also contributed and remains committed towards many worthwhile causes in the fields of social development including education, welfare, health and sports. These include annual scholarship awards, provision of public amenities for the community and donations to many deserving causes and organisations over the years.

As a caring employer, Powertek ensures that it provides a safe and healthy working conditions for its employees. Through its Occupational Health and Safety committees, various programmes are implemented throughout the year to create awareness and to train employees on the importance of safety and health.

At the power plants, environmental management is given great emphasis as it ensures strict compliance with various environmental laws. Our plants are certified to the International Environmental Management Systems Standard, ISO 14001.

Our plants have also achieved the OHSAS 18001 Certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
