On 30 April 2003, Powertek Berhad became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tanjong Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd ("TEH") following a successful voluntary general offer by TEH, and hence, is no longer listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. Taweelah B Project also involves the construction of a new extension power generation and seawater desalination plant, which was completed on 30 October 2008. Following this Project Commercial Operation Date ("PCOD"), TAPCO now has a combined nominal capacity of 2,000 MW and 160 MIGD in power and sea water desalination respectively.
